Roma, 19 may (EFE).- Un motorista que acompañaba a un fotógrafo en el Giro de Italia ha muerto hoy al chocar contra un camión antes de la salida de la etapa, según informa el diario deportivo “La Gazzetta dello Sport”.
FabioSaccani, de 69 años, se dirigía a Cuneo, donde hoy ha tomado la salida la décima etapa del Giro de Italia (Cuneo-Pinerolo).
El motorista, que acompañaba al fotógrafo Roberto Bettini, chocó contra un camión alrededor de las 9.10, hora local (7.10 GMT) cerca de la localidad de Madonna dell’Olmo, a unos tres kilómetros de la salida de la etapa.
Hacía 32 años que Saccani seguía el Giro de Italia, y era amigo del ciclista norteamericano Lance Armstrong, ya que, como él, había superado un cáncer. EFE
